Corey Black (born Corey Wright on September, 17, 1982) is a St. Louis born emcee, lyricist, poet, and entertainer. He is most known for his single “Finger in My Nose,” from his debut EP The Blackout. “Finger in My Nose” was handpicked to air live on one of St. Louis’ hip-hop and R&B stations, and upon fan requests, later catapulted into rotation. Black’s grit and tenacity also saw him perform on-stage with local recording artist Black Spade in front of a crowd of over 20,000 at the 2009 LIVE on the Levee. Expanding his fan base, Black has also performed at the Loop’s legendary Blueberry Hill, downtown’s historic Old Rock House, and the Grove neighborhood friendly Atomic Cowboy. In addition to his music, Black hones his skills at open-mic nights as one of the city’s premier poets. Noted for his metaphorical lingo, Black has crafted powerful poems such as “I am America” and “The Crush,” and has delivered said pieces at spoken word forums, SoulStage, Cafe Soul, SoulSessions, and Legacy Bookstore.
Prior to his music career, Black served in the United States Marine Corp. He draws on that experience as a catalyst to create his art. Black believes, “hip hop is rooted in truth; and people are intrigued by my reality.”
He is currently working on his debut album, Play It By Ear, set for a winter 2009 release.

Sisters Ayanna and Niambi Rowland have been patiently waiting for their time to shine. For years they have sacrificed and given so much of themselves, since the two formed the singing duo Az One, eight years ago. They coined the name Az One because their voices blend and harmonize as one. “We have done so much on our own,” says Ayanna. “We have to encourage each other to keep pushing. We both work full time jobs, and I’m a mother. “It can be hard but we are ready to soar.” Ayanna and Niambi are no amateurs to hard work. A principle instilled in them by their supportive parents. Both graduated with bachelors degrees from Southern Illinois University Carbondale; while running track, holding down jobs, and still receiving honors in their academics.Singing for the sisters started early in church, in their hometown of Springfield, IL. Their parents made sure they were at choir practice every Saturday morning. What started out as something their parents made them do, turned into what Niambi and Ayanna wanted to do for life.
“Sometimes you don’t know why your parents make you do certain things,” says Niambi. “But when we were the only females selected by Billboard Magazine to perform at the Disc Makers Music World Series, in 2006, I truly appreciated what our mom and dad did for us!”
It did not stop there for the dynamic duo that year. Az One performed live on Black Entertainment Television’s (BET) 106 & Park, Wild out Wednesday Contest. They took first place in the R&B competition. They were than invited back to compete for the All Star title. Az One received close to 300,000 votes, a record for the show. “It was so exciting to win,” says Ayanna. “It felt like a dream. This is what we have been waiting for. We won it for our family, friends and fans.”
To keep the momentum going, in 2007, Az One released their freshman album, titled The Jump Off. Niambi and Ayanna wrote, arranged and were the executive producers of the album. They worked with a well rounded blend of talented music producers from Chicago, Springfield, St. Louis, and Europe. The Jump Off was a perfect name for the album because it was the single that landed them on BET. With the ladies on the grind, they sold a couple of thousands out the trunk. They received great reviews on the album, especially on the track, Got Me Thinkin’.

Showmanship, clever lyricist, keep his crowd in tuned from the beginning of his show to the end is how u described this emcee Nite Owl! While his band bang out the live instrumentation, Nite Owl works the stage from left to right, at times animated like a work of art. He’s crafted a style that’s often imitated but cannot be duplicated.
Nite has a tracked record that goes far back as i can remember. He’s done on air personality for Radio One Q95.5 and Foxie 103.1 in Augusta,GA. In 2006 he signed his first deal with Select Records and a second deal with Koch Records in 2008 through a contest that was put on through 100.3 The Beat. Koch management contest however turned out to be controversial that sparked a fuel between Nite Owl and 100.3 The Beat. This fueled led to a Nite Owl diss song called “The Art of War”. Nite Owl latest CD BOO’S AND CHEERS is produced by Kenautis Smith and can be purchased at any available record store.

Mr.Northside Phenomenon has many people leaving various venues remembering his unforgiving stage performance. Rockwell has a unique intelligent flow that captivates the audience like Obama. Dope tracks like, “See N Say”, just to name a few is gravitating to the listener’s ears, because the repetitive sampled speaks for its self. But you cannot ignore the issues that he addresses in the song thats dealing with crime, public school problems that plagued this city for a long time. Whenever Rockwell speak you listen and while you’re listening find out what his “Government Name” is!
